NORAH REIJN
Can you briefly describe your academic background?
I am in the 3rd year of the Photographic Designer course in Amsterdam, where we are trained as a photographer, designer, and entrepreneur.
What inspired you to pursue a career in media/video/audio production?
The impact that content has on the media level is truly impressive.
What excites you the most about your role here?
In YOUNG Media we have a lot of projects that are happening simultaneously, like Met Grenzeloze Ambitie and The Code to Success. I want to be able to create designs that align with the different brands and not confuse them with each other.
What do you hope to learn or achieve during your internship?
I’m hoping to learn more about design during my internship, especially how to adapt different styles to fit each project.
How do you stay inspired and motivated when working on a project, especially when you are stuck creatively?
I keep looking at inspiring platforms such as Instagram or Pinterest. And I remind myself of the warm feeling I experience when I think of the impact that our projects have on our audience. That keeps me going.
What are some projects you previously worked on that you are particularly proud of?
In 2024, I published my first-ever designed and photographed portfolio book. I did this all by myself. When I had it printed, my heart skipped a beat.
If you could work on any dream project, what would it be?
My dream project, speaking of design, is to make advertising posters for dance performances combined with dance photography. That seems so incredibly beautiful to me.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years I see myself living on my own with my cat in a quiet city. Working some days part-time in a creative environment, and spending the rest of my time in my art studio, working on my own art exhibitions.
What is your favorite song?
My favorite songs are Little Freak by Harry Styles and All in Vain by DI-RECT.
Tell us a weird fact about yourself.
A strange fact about me is that my room is full of art drawings, paintings, handwritten stories, plants, books, and tea mugs.
ERNESTO VELASCO MUNOZ
Can you briefly describe your academic background?
I am currently in the 3rd year of a Bachelor’s in International Business Administration. I study at Hogeschool Utrecht, and before that, I graduated from my local high school in Castellón, Spain.
What inspired you to pursue a career in media/video/audio production?
Being able to shed light on topics by capturing moments and building sequences that have meaning and convey a message.
What excites you the most about your role here?
I value being part of a team where everyone is dedicated to their performance and appreciates both the results and the lessons learned throughout the process.
What do you hope to learn or achieve during your internship?
I want to expand my network within the field while gaining hands-on professional experience in media productions.
How do you stay inspired and motivated when working on a project, especially when you are stuck creatively?
Inspiration doesn’t always come easily to me. There are moments when ideas pop into my head, and sometimes they evolve into concepts. I make a conscious effort to nurture these moments of inspiration. As for motivation, I try not to let my output depend solely on my motivation level, although I know it’s impossible to give 100% all the time. I focus on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, which helps me stay optimistic, and with optimism, I find motivation.
What are some projects you previously worked on that you are particularly proud of?
Last month, I worked on the production of a music video for an artist, and I am very satisfied with the result. Direction, production, and post-production were all done by me.
If you could work on any dream project, what would it be?
I am still not sure about this, but being able to work with labels and artists directly in the music industry would be my dream job.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Working on a movie.
What is your favorite song?
Shake Back – Kodak Black.
Tell us a weird fact about yourself.
I can’t snap my fingers.
