ALEXANDRA VIERROU

Can you briefly describe your academic background?
I am a 3rd-year Creative Business student in Utrecht. I know a little bit of everything, from branding to media to design.

What inspired you to pursue a career in media?
It sounded interesting, and I wanted to try it.

What excites you the most about your role here?
There are so many things I have not tried before, and my role allows me to experiment with everything from creative writing to content analysis for our brands.

What do you hope to learn or achieve during your internship?
I aim to learn as much as possible in this industry.

How do you stay inspired and motivated when working on a project, especially when you are stuck creatively?
I like bouncing ideas off my colleagues or friends, and if that doesn’t work, I have found that switching to another task helps my mind get unstuck.

What are some projects you previously worked on that you are particularly proud of?
I am proud of a school project where my team and I built an escape room with only a 15-euro budget, and the participants loved it.

If you could work on any dream project, what would it be?
I would love to create concepts for immersive experiences.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Married with kids.

What is your favorite song?
Silent Cry by Stray Kids.

Tell us a weird fact about yourself.
When I was younger, I had 13 pets.

THIJS DE JONG

Can you briefly describe your academic background?
I am currently doing my graduation internship at Young Media for my Entrepreneurship & Retail Management studies.

What inspired you to pursue a career in media/video/audio production?
I’ve always found the media world exciting because it allows me to work with many different people with various skills and roles. That way, I get to learn a lot from different perspectives.

What excites you the most about your role here?
What I enjoy most about my role in marketing is working with the editors on schedule while also considering the input from the people involved in the videos. It’s a challenge to structure everything well, and I like that!

What do you hope to learn or achieve during your internship?
I hope to learn how to create clear and effective overviews for different brands so the whole team can work efficiently.

How do you stay inspired and motivated when working on a project, especially when you are stuck creatively?
I stay motivated by collaborating with others and brainstorming together. When I get stuck, I like to take a short walk and have a chat with someone, sometimes that leads to great ideas!

What are some projects you previously worked on that you are particularly proud of?
I just started my internship, and so far I’ve been working on a planning/schedule for one brand. I’d love to expand this to cover all brands.

If you could work on any dream project, what would it be?
My dream project would be to get creative myself and work on fun videos or podcasts.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years, I hope to have met so many people that I have a much clearer idea of what I truly want to do.

What is your favorite song?
I don’t have one favorite song, but I really enjoy Dutch pub music.

Tell us a weird fact about yourself.
Both of my parents have the last name “De Jong,” but they aren’t married, it’s just a coincidence!
