This Christmas holiday, our youth brand Pauze and Spaceteen will team up to organize a Design Sprint: four creative afternoons where teens (ages 16–17) get hands-on with inspiring workshops. Together, we’ll rethink social media and dive into the world of “bright” vs. “dark” design patterns. The project is focused on understanding how design choices can promote healthy digital habits or unintentionally encourage addictive behavior.
Why join?
The Design Sprint is the chance for the teens to discover what healthy screen time really looks like. They’ll collaborate with professional designers, receive creative mentorship, and explore how design can empower you to take back control of your digital life.
More details
The sessions will take place at the YOUNG Media office in Amsterdam on 22, 23, 29, and 30 December, plus an online feedback session in February. During these workshops, the teens will investigate the problem, brainstorm ideas, build prototypes, test them, and reflect, experiencing the full “design thinking” cycle from start to finish.
How to join
Interested teens can sign up by visiting pauze.media and applying through a form. We’ll ask for basic personal details and a brief motivation for joining. Don’t worry, this isn’t a school essay. We’re looking for creativity, curiosity, and genuine interest.
At Young Media, together with PAUZE, we believe social media can be positive, healthy, and inspiring. Don’t miss this opportunity to help shape the future of how social media is designed and to discover that you can be part of that change.
