Get to know our interns through a quick Q&A

To give you an even better idea of who our new interns are, we sat down with Karlina, Demi, and Alondra to ask them a few questions about themselves, their roles, and what drives their creativity. Check out their answers below!

KARLINA VAN BOXTEL

-What inspired you to pursue a career in media/design/content creation?

Since I was young, I loved drawing—whether on paper, walls, or even with the leftover sauce on my plate. This urge to create has always stayed with me, and now I’m excited to dive into the dynamic world of media where there’s always something happening.

-What excites you the most about your role here?

As a production intern, I can’t wait to contribute to projects and productions that people will see and experience. I believe Young Media will offer me the opportunities to truly learn and grow. I’m eager to roll up my sleeves and tackle those last-minute challenges that always pop up in production—it’s all part of the excitement!

-What do you hope to learn or achieve during your internship?

I want to use this internship to explore the real world of work and the industry. It’s important to me to gain genuine impressions and experiences. I’m eager to get hands-on project experience—while I’ve worked with clients in school, I’m excited to see how it all plays out in the real world.

-What’s your go-to source of inspiration when you’re creatively stuck?

Chat gpt………

-If you could work on any dream project, what would it be?

Producing a film that combines stunning visuals with a powerful narrative. I’d love to be part of something that not only entertains but also leaves a lasting impact on its audience.

DEMI D’ELIA

-What inspired you to pursue a career in media/design/content creation?

From a young age, I have always been creative—drawing, painting, and making bracelets. Both my father and mother are also very creative, so it’s something I grew up with. I love giving people a certain feeling with the designs I create. Currently, my passions are making illustrations and photography.

-What excites you the most about your role here?

I really appreciate that we are seen as part of the team here and not just as interns. I’ve already done so many things that I never thought I would do, and every day is different.

-What do you hope to learn or achieve during your internship?

I hope to get a real look at the work I want to do in the future. It’s important to me to get a true impression of what the work field looks like. I also hope to make connections with the people around me, and I’m sure Young Media can help me with that!

-What’s your go-to source of inspiration when you’re creatively stuck?

Pinterest is really my go-to source of inspiration. I’m on Pinterest every day—morning, afternoon, and evening. I save what I find and have an inspiration board for all aspects of design.

-If you could work on any dream project, what would it be?

I don’t necessarily have one big dream project, but I would love to photograph people from all over the world and create a coffee table book with all kinds of illustrations alongside the photos.

ALONDRA DE GRAAFF

-What inspired you to pursue a career in media/design/content creation?

I was inspired by the incredible work of content creators and designers who could bring ideas to life in such impactful ways. Watching how they could communicate complex messages through visuals and media really motivated me to develop those skills myself and contribute to the field.

-What excites you the most about your role here?

What excites me the most about my role here at Young Media is the opportunity to apply my creative skills in developing unique and impactful concepts. I’m eager to contribute to projects that add real value to the company while also gaining hands-on experience that will help me grow professionally. I’m looking forward to crafting content that resonates with audiences and enhances Young Media’s offerings.

-What do you hope to learn or achieve during your internship?

During my internship, I’m excited to gain hands-on experience working in a real-world setting and learn from industry professionals. I hope to improve my writing and concept development skills, as well as enhance my design abilities to create engaging and attractive content. My goal is to grow as a creative professional and contribute meaningfully to the team.

-What’s your go-to source of inspiration when you’re creatively stuck?

When I’m creatively stuck, I often turn to Pinterest, where I can explore a wide range of visuals and design ideas. It’s a great platform for sparking creativity. I also keep an eye on trends across other social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, where I can see how different brands are engaging their audiences in innovative ways.

-If you could work on any dream project, what would it be?

My dream project would involve leading a comprehensive campaign to promote a brand’s product or concept. I’d love to be involved from the very start—developing the initial concept, then overseeing every stage of the process, from filming and design to marketing and editing. Being able to bring a creative vision to life across multiple platforms, while ensuring a cohesive and impactful message.
