Our team had the incredible opportunity to represent VG Visie at the Provada 2024 this summer in Amsterdam. The event was a vibrant convergence of the real estate industry’s best minds, and it left us both enriched and inspired.
From the moment we stepped into the venue, the energy was palpable. The diversity of attendees was immediately striking—not just a gathering of professionals in suits, but a community united by a shared passion for innovation and collaboration. The event provided us with a platform to connect with like-minded individuals, exchange ideas, and gain insights into the latest developments shaping the real estate landscape.
The organization and design of the event were impeccable. Every corner offered a new experience, from gourmet finger food and fancy drinks to engaging speeches and presentations. Among the many standout moments was the presentation titled “100 Most Inspiring Concepts of 2024.” This session offered a sneak peek into the innovations and forward-thinking strategies that are reshaping the future of real estate, pushing us to think creatively and embrace new possibilities.
One of the highlights of our day was visiting the VG Visie stand , where the latest summer magazines were unveiled. The content resonated deeply with our team, reinforcing our commitment to staying ahead of industry trends. However, the most memorable moment was witnessing the interview with Annemarie van Gerrevink, the Managing Director of Young Media.
At the esteemed 2024 Provada Fair in Amsterdam, Annemarie van Gerrevink, the Managing Director of Young Media, articulated an ambitious roadmap for the company’s future. Since assuming leadership in October 2023, Annemarie has guided Young Media, a subsidiary of Young, through pivotal achievements and key acquisitions. Founded in early 2023, Young Media has already acquired two media brands, showcasing its dedication to creating a strong media network.
Young Media’s growth strategy revolves around expanding its portfolio by acquiring specialized interest brands, with the goal of building a diverse network of at least 20 media brands within the next two years. “We really want to have a network of at least 20 media brands within a year or two. We are all working on potential acquisitions with a budget to buy special interest brands,” Annemarie shared.
One of Young Media’s notable acquisitions is VG Visie, a professional media brand with a focus on real estate, aligning seamlessly with Young’s core subsidiary, Young Real Estate Investments. VG Visie embodies Young Media’s commitment to producing in-depth, investigative content, with a daily news service distributed across multiple platforms, including podcasts and newsletters, tailored specifically for professionals in the dynamic real estate sector.
During the interview, Annemarie offered a glimpse into her personal and professional journey. A natural entrepreneur who started her first business at 18, she has a deep passion for media and branding. She draws creative inspiration from a wide array of sources, including books, podcasts, museums, and her daily life with her two-year-old child. Having lived in various Dutch cities, Annemarie has found a sense of home and tranquility in The Hague over the past year, which has greatly influenced her creative and professional output.
Looking to the Future
Young Media’s future ambitions include expanding its focus beyond real estate to cover public space media and other areas. Annemarie emphasized the importance of placing experts at the forefront of each domain to foster growth and innovation. With her expertise in branding, she aims to cultivate a strong brand identity for each new acquisition, ensuring a unified and impactful media presence. “We want to put a leader in each domain who will build that domain. And with that person, we will build and take over brands,” she explained.
Young Media at Provada Fair
The interview at the Provada Fair highlighted the scale and ambition of Young Media’s vision. Annemarie’s plans for a diverse and expansive media network, supported by strategic acquisitions and a commitment to high-quality content, position Young Media as a formidable force in the media industry. A significant aspect of Young Media’s future vision includes promoting more women in leadership roles. This initiative is not only a personal goal but also a core part of Young Media’s strategy, backed by Wim de Jong, the founder of Young.
As we reflect on our experience at Provada 2024, we are energized by the possibilities that lie ahead. The event equipped us with fresh perspectives and renewed determination to tackle challenges head-on. With leaders like Annemarie van Gerrevink at the helm, we are confident that Young Media will continue to make significant strides in the media landscape, shaping the future of real estate and beyond.
